The Regional Awareness and Accessibility Program is intended to ensure awareness and accessibility to the services of the office of the Energy and Water Ombudsman to regional and Aboriginal Western Australians.
The Program is undertaken jointly with the Western Australian Ombudsman, the Commonwealth Ombudsman, the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office and the Equal Opportunity Commission, and was conducted in Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields-Esperance Region from 2 to 5 December 2019.
The Program included an information stall and complaints clinics where members of the public could bring their concerns to us (that they had not been able to resolve directly with electricity, gas and water services providers), meetings with the Aboriginal community, visits to, and liaison with, community organisations, and liaison and workshops for electricity, gas and water services providers.
