The Ombudsman visits Katanning and Wagin, 6-8 March.

Staff from Ombudsman WA and Energy and Water Ombudsman offices participated in the Wagin Woolorama agricultural show on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 March 2025. We collaborated with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman and Consumer Protection to offer visitors the opportunity to learn about various complaint handling organisations.

During the agricultural show, we spoke to people about consumer rights, billing issues, customer service problems, and service provision in regional Western Australia.

On Thursday 6 March, the team visited the Wagin and Katanning Community Resource Centres to distribute information resources. That evening, we hosted a "Supporting Consumers Sundowner" in Katanning, a successful networking event attended by local advocates and community members. Attendees gained valuable insights into the services provided by different ombudsman and complaint handling organisations.

This outreach is part of the Regional Awareness and Accessibility Program, aimed at increasing awareness and accessibility of our services for regional and Aboriginal Western Australians.
